Buckets can be thought of as "lists" that contacts are assigned to in order to be dialed in a campaign. Buckets are used to section data off for general dialing.
In a nutshell, the system pulls a contact from a bucket within a campaign and dials it. From there, depending on the outcome, the agent dispositions the call, such "sale made" or "no contact," and moves on to the next contact.
Go to: Data > Bucket
Click Create Bucket to begin.
Bucket Name. Create a bucket name.
Filter For State Calling Hours & Holidays. When enabled, this feature filters callable contacts. For example, if a state holiday is in effect, and the bucket has contacts from that state, those contacts will not be available to dial.
Another example, if the state's legal calling hours end at 8pm, then contacts from that state will not be dialed. Contacts will remain in the bucket, but will not be available to dial through a campaign until the next day, when time allows.
Click the downward arrow (on the right side of the page) to view state timezones and upcoming holidays.
The map data indicates which states are callable (green) states and non-callable (red).
Clicks Save to finish.
How to Add Contacts to Buckets
Contacts can be added to buckets in multiple ways.

On the contact form's menu bar, located on the right side, click the Buckets icon.
Click the Select a Bucket drop down menu, select the bucket and click the blue + icon to assign the bucket to the contact.

B) Add Multiple Contacts Through Bulk Updates
On the Contacts page, select contacts by selecting the checkbox on the left side of the table. You can also click the top-most check box to select the contacts on the page or click the Select All __ Contacts link on the top-center of the page to select every contact in the account.
At the bottom of the page, click View/Edit Contact.
On the "Edit Contact" form, scroll down to the "Buckets" section. Click the "Add to Bucket" drop down menu, select the bucket. The bucket will be automatically added to the form.
You can also create a new bucket by clicking Create New.
Click Save to finish.

Buckets are a simple, yet effective way of managing and dialing data. Contacts can be part of multiple buckets, and buckets can be added to power/predict and preview campaigns, which add a level of flexibility.
