A Hot Lead Bucket is a supplementary bucket that's used to call contacts within a campaign. It's main purpose is have contacts in the hot lead bucket to be queued with priority and called immediately.
For example, let's say hot leads are being added to your account via an API. Those hot leads can be added to the "Hot Lead Bucket" within the campaign, and be called sooner rather than later, by having them move to the front of the line.
This feature is found under: Campaigns > Settings > Advanced Settings > Hot Lead Bucket
Any bucket can be used as a hot lead bucket. If a new bucket needs to be made, go to: Data > Buckets and create the bucket there. Then come back to this feature and apply.
When a contact from the hot lead bucket is dialed and connected, the agent dashboard will display a fire icon on the dial pad, indicating it's a contact from the "Hot Lead Bucket."
Note: Hot Lead Buckets are not meant to replace the campaign's main live filter or bucket. It's designed to be used when "hot leads" are added, or when live filters or buckets are running low, and/or when User Distribution Queues are not preferred.
Keep in mind the hot lead bucket will only run if the campaign is active and with available agents.
Conclusion
Hot Lead Buckets are a great supplementary feature that's used by users expecting hot leads to be dialed as they are added to the account or as a back up for when campaigns are running low on contacts.
